Macfarlane Moleli has spent the last two decades building a reputation as an investigative journalist. He currently anchors Carte Blanche, which is South Africa’s longest-running investigative journalism program, with a history spanning 30 years. Here he has interviewed industry leaders, senior politicians, and captains of industry. Often going beyond the call of duty chasing criminals, interrogating fraudsters and calling power to account. Before that, he worked for Kaya FM, SABC3
News, 180 degrees on SABC News International, and ENCA, Africa’s first and most successful 24-hour news channel. Building on a successful career in journalism and a reputation for taking the corrupt to task, Macfarlane has also recently joined the board of ProtectedBy.AI, as CEO of the Africa Division. Event Management companies often call on Mac’s expertise to host their events, to moderate debates and sometimes help in their planning. He has hosted the CNN Multi choice African Journalist awards in 2009 and in 2013, the metropolitan Oliver empowerment awards as well as the MTN Yellow Stars awards. He has been the MC for the annual banking summit for 2 years running and an MC for the Multi-Choice Phutumanathi AGM. Mac also does keynote addresses at events where he shares his experiences about the “South Africa He Sees”, due to his nationwide travels covering diverse stories and topics.
